How does GiveProof work?
Photograph the goods you’re donating (and the charity receipt, if you have one). The app builds an itemized list from your photos, assigns each item a fair-market value, and lets you edit everything before exporting a Form 8283-aligned PDF for your tax records.
Does my data or my photos go anywhere?
No. All photo analysis happens on your device using Apple’s Vision framework and the on-device Apple Foundation Models (Apple Intelligence). GiveProof has no server, no account, and no analytics — nothing you do in the app ever leaves your phone. See our Privacy Policy.
Which devices support photo detection?
Automatic item detection uses Apple Intelligence, which requires an Apple Intelligence-capable device (iPhone 15 Pro or later) running iOS 26 or newer. On other devices the app works the same way with manual item entry.
Where do the dollar values come from?
From a built-in fair-market-value guide curated from published charity valuation ranges (such as Goodwill and Salvation Army guides), scaled by the condition you choose — never from an AI guess. Every value is editable, and you should name items specifically (“dog crate”, not “pet supplies”) for an audit-ready record.
What does the subscription unlock?
Itemizing, valuing, and saving donations is free. A GiveProof+ subscription unlocks PDF export. Manage or cancel anytime in your iPhone’s Settings → your name → Subscriptions.
Is this tax advice?
No. GiveProof is an organizational tool for your donation records. IRS rules and thresholds change — confirm current figures with the IRS or your tax professional before filing.
